Totally still interested. Moving into a new studio space this week, will be making the pieces in the next couple of weeks, and then I’ll be looking to fire.
I was actually just in Tacoma this weekend and have to go back next weekend, in two weekends, so I’m going to pass, but thank you for the offer! I hope you have a good time.
I’ll contact you about firing as I get my shit together! :) face
Awesome! I will make something this week and then let you know.

Stories Told, Forgotten Satpreet KahlonJune-Sept 2016 Pioneer Square, West Seattle, SoDo Satpreet Kahlon 517.898.8135 firstname.lastname@example.org 600 1 0 0 950 Event in West Seattle: about ten women of color came, some with their mothers, to talk about the challenges and trauma that they face being woc in Seattle/the US.
Opening reception in Pioneer Square: Almost 400 people came through, a lot of WoC and Pomore than usual, but mostly the usual Seattle arts crowd Artist Talk: 20 people, about 6 PoC who had never been to an artist talk before — PoC once again brought their parents — this made me so happy!
Private artist talk: I gave a private artist talk in METHOD Gallery to a gorup of abotu 25 students who were taking classes with the WIng Luke Museum. StorytellingARt Walk in West SEattle: About 150 people — usual West Seattle art walk cr15XXXI don’t plan on recreating this exact project again, but I am very interested in intergenerational storytelling and documentation within communities of color. I have also been asked, because of this project, to take part in a three-person exchibitionat the Wing Luke in late 2017. WIth a project like this, limited funding and space is such a problem for me as a WoC, but I will continue to search for ways to make these kinds of projects more sustainable.

Michigan State University2007-2011Studio Art, Art EducationBFA in Ceramics and Photography, BFA in Art Education Two BFAs: nope Worked as a graphic designer at The State News all four years, was on student government in student government for two years, mentored elementary, middle school, and high school students in the Lansing-area, taught weekend art classes to Lansing-area high schooler
My first month in college at MSU, I applied to be a graphic designer at The State News and got hired. I worked there all through college to pay my way through school, working between 15-28 hours a week. I built national award winning campaigns advertising and graphics for the newspaper and our clients that were used on our website and in print media.—Post-graduation, I was named one of the top Emerging Artists toI received a scholarship to take a class at Penland School of Craft in North Carolina, so I went there, made a ton of new friends, and ended up going straight from there to Kentucky with a new friend, and then proceeding to road trip across the Western US for two months with that friend. We lived out of my car, went camping, and visited every National Park ever. about 15 National Parks. 30 National and State parks.
-After this, I worked as a tutor and a mentor to students in Southern California, which is where our road trip ended. I did this for about 8 months to save money to take a trip to India. 2007-2011:2011:2012satpreet: I went to India with a friend for almost three months to try to come to terms with my origin story.
-When I came back, I went and worked as a Community Outreach intern at Penland School of Crafts for four months, where I helped run an art camp, as well as developed my own curriculum to offer classes to low-income ESL students in the rural North Carolina area. I taught a photography/writing workshop to encourage pride in diversity.
-After this, I moved to Santa Barbara, CA, where I worked as a freelance graphic designer/artist on various projects. I also worked as an Education Specialist for high schoolers in the area, helping them manage their workload and giving them guidance and helping them with their homework.
2013: I moved to Seattle, WA, where I still live. I worked as a Studio Artist for a company that makes art that is sold at international retailers such as Ethan Allen and Target for a year. In late 2014, I quit to go into business for myself.4Since then, I have been working as a full-time fine artist showing in galleries. I also teach youth programminghelp run through the Seattle Art Museum, and make high-end commissions for clients on the sideSingle, no kidsSingle, no kids — no plans on getting married or having kids anytime soon, because I’m an independent woman , because life is way too exciting to change anything right now
Since leaving MSU, I have lived in: North Carolina, India, California, and out of my car, in LA, in Santa Barbara, CA, in the desert of California, and now in Seattle, WA.I remember being able to boss working with my best friends all the time, basically, many of whom I am still friends with today. The newspaper taught me how to balance multiple projects, forced me to practice my design and writing skills on a daily basis, and it gave me my first experience in managing other people.
I’ve already said a lot, but honestly, my life has been really good. My focus has always been about doing things that I am passionate about and using my skills to give access to art to people who otherwise might not get that access. I would really encourage students to not pay too much attention to what people tell you that you can/can’t do and to make those decisions for yourself. Be self-sufficient, driven, and work hard at what feels most right to you. And as you keep becoming more successful, always find people who deserve to be getting success, too, and don’t be afraid to lend a hand to bring them up with you. It’s only a competition if you make it one, but really, there’s room for all of us at the top.face

Sorry to pull out last minute, but I just got contacted by an organization that does voter outreach for the Asian community in SEattle, and they need more people toegive rides/translation assistance to folks who are voting tomorrow, and so I feel obligated to do that.
If this puts you in a bind, let me know, but it doesn’t look like my name has been added anywhere on the event (that I can see online), so we should be good?
Let me know,

I don’t really have anything else to say, and I really think it is taken more seriously coming from a white-presenting person, so you should feel free to make the post.
I have nothing to add, but would like to say that I find it refreshing that you are using this page as a place to explore and find knowledge and be open about your lack of certainty around this topic.
I really like this comment, and I clicked on your photo to see your profile and was kind of disheartened to see the description about you being a “gypsy queen” on your profile, because gypsies
